Intimate Health

Sexual and psychosexual health

Confidential consultation for sexual difficulties, performance concerns, desire changes and psychosexual factors.

Sexual difficulties deserve a proper clinical assessment.

Sexual concerns can affect confidence, relationships and wellbeing. Causes may be psychological, relational, medication-related, hormonal, vascular, neurological or mixed. The same symptom can arise from different pathways in different people.

A thoughtful consultation therefore begins with the history rather than an assumption about the cause. Depending on the concern, assessment may consider sexual history, relationship context, mood and anxiety, medicines, substance use, sleep and relevant physical health factors.

A discreet, non-judgmental space

Sensitive topics can be difficult to discuss. The goal is to make the consultation clear and respectful, with only information relevant to the clinical assessment being explored.

Important: A sexual symptom should not automatically be interpreted as a psychological problem. Physical causes and medication effects may need attention as well.
Treatment approach

Cause first. Treatment second.

There is rarely one universal treatment for a sexual symptom. The right intervention depends on the pattern, likely contributors, patient preference and whether another medical assessment is needed.
